PMPS Guide to Lockdown Learning
As part of our return to school in Term 2, we have published a PMPS specific guide for returning to learning, and making the best of school in the Level 4 Lockdown.
To continue learning, maintain connections and to look after the well-being of our students, each team have set up a Google site with pages for each class. The Google sites contain links and activities for students to work on.
Here is the link to the Ministry of Education’s web page on Supporting Learning.
Read to and with your child. Reading to your child is a wonderful way to develop vocabulary and to spend some quality time together. One of my best childhood memories is of my mother reading “Alice in Wonderland” to us after dinner every night.
Academic learning is not a priority right now; this is a time to focus on making your child feel safe. It is an opportunity for us all to slow down and focus on the ones we love.
As the school holidays have been brought forward 2 weeks, Term 1 will now finish on the 27th of March. Online home learning will resume on Wednesday the 15th of April when Term 2 starts.
This page contains the links to the Team Google sites. Please also refer to our Supporting Learning page on this website. We will be uploading more resources onto the Supporting Learning page over the next few weeks.
Home Learning | Papa Kāinga TV will start education broadcasting for early learners and students (Years 1–10) from 9am on Wednesday April 15. Māori Television will launch a series of te reo educational programmes (for ages 0 to 18) on the same day.
Home Learning | Papa Kāinga TV will be free to air, on TVNZ channel 2+1 and on TVNZ on Demand, as well as on Sky Channel 502. This is to support what teachers are already doing for our students on the team sites. The team sites are the first ‘go to’.
