From the Principal

In coming weeks you will be receiving information about our upcoming Student Led Conferences. Our teachers and students are working hard to prepare for this event and we hope you will be taking time out of your busy schedule to attend!
When I first started at Pigeon Mountain, we were pleased to see 80% and more of parents attending learning events like parent meetings and conferences. We have worked extremely hard with a very dedicated and committed community to increase this attendance rate, and it is now commonplace for classes to report 100% of all parents attending to hear about their child’s learning and progress! Please take time to attend the conferences this term- think from your child’s perspective, and how special it feels to have both their parent and teacher in the classroom at the same time. It is a privilege we owe them all!

We farewelled Mr Johnathan Daniels and his wife Nicky at the end of last week, ahead of their move to Saudi Arabia. We thank Jono for all he has done during the past 3 years, and he leaves a wonderful legacy in terms of the Wellbeing initiatives he has led, and how he and Nicky always embodied ‘Education with a Heart’. We welcome his successor, Dylan Marshall into the Associate Principal role to work alongside myself and Linda and we are excited about the skills and knowledge he brings to the role.

School Lunch Survey
During the last newsletter, we asked for your input about our school lunch provision. Thank you to those who took part!
Of those who ordered school lunches;
88% rated the variety of options offered as adequate, good or very good.
50% rated the value for money as adequate, good or very good.
100% rated the ease of ordering offered as adequate, good or very good.
82% rated the quality of food as adequate, good or very good.
76% rated the portions of meals as adequate, good or very good.
82% rated the healthiness of offerings as adequate, good or very good.
The main feedback offered was that it would be good for lunch provision to now be a daily, rather than 3 times each week option. We are exploring this possibility, and hope to have some positive change soon!
We will be asking for your thoughts on another school-related theme in the next newsletter!
