Puriri Team Newsletter. Term 3 and 4 2018
At the beginning of Term 3 we were all very excited to meet and welcome our new teacher for Room one. Miss Esther Kim joined Puriri Team and along with room 1 we have enjoyed learning all about her. During Term 3 Team Puriri were very busy learning how artists tell a story through the pieces of art that they create. The artists we learnt about make interesting pieces of work that are bright and vibrant and can sometimes be found decorating the outside walls of a building. The students had hours of enjoyment designing and creating collaborative works of art that all the parents can come and view in the school art exhibition in Term 4.
All the students in our team have been trying very hard to become great learners . They have been writing interesting stories, thinking about the messages in the stories they read and explaining how a maths problem was solved. Team Puriri were very excited to be the inaugural Junior team winners of the end of term team singing competition. Well done everyone!
It was good to see everyone back safely to start our new term. This term will be a busy learning term as well as having many extra events happening. We will be busy putting the finishing touches on our art work for the exhibition and look forward to seeing you all there on the night.
The Inquiry topic for this term is about how people and objects go through changes and why this occurs. We will also look at nature , insects, animals and plants, and study the changes that occur. To finish this topic we will visit Butterfly Creek in Week 7.
Team Puriri will also celebrate Christmas and the end of the school year with an event at school which we will tell you about closer to the time.
If you have time please come into school and say hello and have a look at your child’s work and the lovely bright classrooms where they are learning.
