From the Principal

Welcome back to the final term of 2022!

We would like to celebrate the 96% of parents who attended a Student Led Conference in late Term 3. This is an incredibly high proportion of parents and demonstrates your connection with the school and your child’s classroom teacher. Strong ongoing links between students, whānau and school undoubtedly lead to great outcomes for all! He waka eke noa!

Many thanks to the parents who completed our Student Led Conference feedback form. This information helps us understand how to improve these conferences. We had 389 responses, with over 96% of you finding the Student-Led Conference helpful and informative. A common theme was that you thoroughly enjoyed watching your child confidentially and proudly share their learning journey with you. This also gave you an insight into your child’s environment and daily activities. It was also noted that you enjoyed the practical elements of this conference and had meaningful conversations with your child about their learning, which does not happen at home. There were some good suggestions and ideas that we will be looking to embed into our Student-Led Conferences next year.

Māori Community Hui – Wednesday 9th November 6 – 7:30pm

The Community Hui is an opportunity for us to strengthen our home-school partnerships and understand what Pigeon Mountain Primary’s Māori communities value. Pizza will be provided for dinner as well as child care during the meeting. We hope that all of our whānau who identify as Māori can attend this important Māori Community hui.

Uniform- Term 4

Please note- long pants are winter garments and not part of Term 4 or Term 1 uniform.

Please ensure that students are no longer wearing long pants and return to wearing shorts or culottes. Please also ensure that your child has a hat for Terms 4 and 1 to protect them from the Summer sun. Students without hats will not be allowed to play in open areas of school.
